Premium Bonds Change of Address

If you are in the process of moving house, updating your address with NS&I may be just one of the many tasks on your to-do list. The Moveinout address notification service allows you to notify a range of organisations, including Premium Bonds, of your change of address quickly and easily, all from one place. This helps to ensure that your address is updated quickly and accurately, without the need to spend hours on the phone or filling out forms. This service is particularly useful if you have a long list of organisations to notify, as it can save you time and hassle.
If you hold Premium Bonds and have recently moved house, it is important to update your address with National Savings and Investments (NS&I). This ensures that you continue to receive important correspondence and any prizes you may win. Here is a guide on how to change your address with Premium Bonds

This guide will cover the following:

Before you start the process, you will need to have the following information at hand:

  • Your Premium Bond holder's number(s)
  • Your old address and new address
  • Your NS&I number (if known)
  • Your bank details (if you have a Direct Saver account or Direct ISA with NS&I)

Update NS&I address online
One way to update your address is to log in to your NS&I account online. If you don't have an online account, you can create one by visiting the NS&I website and clicking on the 'Register' button. Once you have logged in to your account, click on 'Your profile' and then 'Change your details'. You will be prompted to enter your new address details.

Update NS&I address by phone
If you prefer, you can also update your address over the phone by calling NS&I's customer service team on 08085 007 007. Make sure you have your Premium Bond holder's number(s) and new address details ready.
Once you have updated your address, NS&I will send you confirmation in the post within five working days. Your new address will then be updated on your Premium Bonds account. If you have any Direct Saver accounts or Direct ISA accounts with NS&I, your new address will also be updated on these accounts.

Frequently asked questions

What are Premium Bonds?
Premium Bonds are a type of savings bond issued by National Savings and Investments (NS&I), a UK government-backed savings and investment provider. They offer the chance to win tax-free prizes each month instead of earning interest.

How do I buy Premium Bonds?
You can buy Premium Bonds directly from NS&I online, by phone, by post, or at a post office. You can invest between £25 and £50,000 in Premium Bonds, and each £1 bond gives you a chance to win a prize in NS&I's monthly prize draw.

How do Premium Bond prizes work?
Each month, NS&I holds a prize draw to determine which bond numbers will win a prize. Prizes range from £25 to £1 million and are tax-free. The more bonds you have, the higher your chances of winning a prize.

How do I know if I've won a Premium Bond prize?
If you have won a prize in the monthly prize draw, NS&I will notify you by post or email. You can also check if you have won a prize by using NS&I's prize checker tool online or by calling NS&I's customer service team.

What happens to unclaimed Premium Bond prizes?
If you win a Premium Bond prize but do not claim it, NS&I will hold onto the prize until you claim it. There is no time limit for claiming Premium Bond prizes.

Can I cash in my Premium Bonds?
Yes, you can cash in your Premium Bonds at any time. NS&I will usually pay out the value of your bonds within eight working days of receiving your request.

Are Premium Bonds a good investment?
Whether or not Premium Bonds are a good investment depends on your individual circumstances and financial goals. Premium Bonds do not offer a guaranteed return, but they do offer the chance to win tax-free prizes. If you are looking for a low-risk savings option and are comfortable with the possibility of winning no prizes, Premium Bonds may be a good choice for you.
